"Now--a "first-rate guide to the critical study of the Old Testament books" augments The Old Testament Library. For the first time in English--a book (translated from the original Italian edition) that is already being widely used as a textbook in Europe. The volume is divided into six major parts: Part one presents an overview of the methods and problems of Old Testament study, the Cannon, interpretations of Old Testament literature, and recent developments in the critical study of the Old Testament. Parts Two through Five discuss all the books in the Hebrew Cannon in the order found in the Hebrew Bible.
